Welcome to GOshare ("we", "our", "us"). GOshare is a cloud file storage and sharing service accessible via our web application and Android mobile application (Package Name: com.adhamelanany.goshare). This service is developed and operated by ENG. Adham Hany.
We are committed to respecting your privacy, protecting your personal data, and maintaining full transparency regarding the collection, processing, storage, and deletion of your information in compliance with global standards and the Google Play Data Safety Policy.
📂 2. Data We Collect
When you register, use, or interact with GOshare, we collect the following categories of data:
- Account & Identification Data: Your email address, display name, user ID, and optional profile picture when creating an account via Email/Password, Google Sign-In, or GitHub Sign-In.
- User Content & File Data: Files you upload (documents, images, videos, audio, archives), original file names, file sizes, MIME types, creation dates, expiration dates, and assigned security permissions (public, private, or password-protected).
- App Activity & Usage Data: File upload counts, download metrics, storage quota utilization, and interaction logs within the app to provide dashboard analytics.
- Technical & Device Data: Basic device information, IP address, user-agent string, and session tokens necessary for Firebase Authentication and fraud/abuse prevention.
⚙️ 3. How We Use Your Data
We process your data strictly to deliver and improve our cloud sharing platform:
- Authentication & Account Management: To verify your identity, maintain logged-in sessions, and enforce storage limits.
- File Hosting & Shortlink Generation: To store your files securely in Firebase Cloud Storage, generate short URLs, and manage download permissions.
- Security & Abuse Prevention: To protect against unauthorized access, XSS attacks, malicious file distribution, and spam.
- Customer Support & Communication: To respond to support requests, account inquiries, or security updates.
🌐 4. Third-Party Services & Subprocessors
GOshare integrates trusted third-party service providers to power its infrastructure. These providers only process data as required to perform specific infrastructure tasks on our behalf:
- Google Firebase Services (Auth, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage): Provides secure user authentication, database metadata management, and encrypted file hosting. Data processed by Firebase is managed in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Monetag / Ad Networks: Non-personally identifiable advertising metrics to support free storage quotas.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or uploaded files to any third-party advertisers or data brokers.
🛡️ 5. Security Practices & Encryption
We employ industry-standard technical and organizational security measures:
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device, our web/mobile apps, and Firebase servers is encrypted using HTTPS / TLS 1.3 protocols.
- Access Control & Granular Security Rules: Firebase Security Rules strictly restrict file access so that private files can only be accessed by the account owner.
- Password Protection: Password-protected file shares use server-side hash verification before granting access.
🗑️ 6. Data Retention & Account Deletion (Google Play Compliant)
You retain 100% ownership and control over your files and personal data at all times.
Immediate File Deletion: You can delete any uploaded file at any time directly through the "My Files" section of your GOshare dashboard. Deleting a file instantly removes its binary data from Firebase Cloud Storage and deletes its record from Firestore.
Account Deletion & Data Erasure Instructions:
If you wish to delete your entire GOshare account and permanently remove all associated files, data, and metadata, you can do so through either of the following methods:
- Method 1 (In-App & Web Portal Deletion): Log in to your GOshare account, navigate to My Files / Account Dropdown, and click "Delete Account & Data" or visit our dedicated Account & Data Deletion Portal. This triggers an immediate purge of all stored files, database records, and user authentication profiles.
- Method 2 (External Request Form): Visit delete-account.html to submit an external deletion request form or send an email to adham.cs.guides@gmail.com. Upon request verification, all user records, authentication credentials, and uploaded files will be purged.

👶 8. Children's Privacy
GOshare does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will immediately delete such data from our servers. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect service enhancements or legal requirements. Any modifications will be published directly on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of GOshare following modifications constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
